At Target, we’re heading into the holidays with a strong, experienced team that’s ready to deliver a joyful, reliable shopping experience for our guests — however they choose to shop.

We start by offering additional hours to current team members, and we tap into our On-Demand team — a flexible group of about 43,000 store team members who pick up shifts that work for their schedules. We also hire seasonal team members across our nearly 2,000 stores and 60-plus supply chain facilities to meet local demand and ensure fast, consistent service in every community we serve.

Our team members, including seasonal team members, earn a starting wage of $15–$24 an hour, depending on role and location, and receive benefits from day one — including early pay access, a 10% discount (plus 20% off wellness items), and access to 24/7 virtual healthcare and mental health support. Many also find opportunities for growth and development that lead to longer-term roles at Target.

Last year, more than half of our seasonal store team members were offered the chance to stay on with Target after the holidays and nearly 20% of our field leaders began their journey in seasonal roles.

We asked a few of our team members to share their stories:

Target team member Joy

From the very first day, the team members made me feel so welcome ... but more than that, it was the company that Target is and the benefits they provide. It’s the way they truly care about their team members.

The flexibility of On-Demand has been amazing — over the summer when I’m not teaching, I can pick up longer shifts, and during the school year I just do weekends here and there. It’s really worked perfectly with my schedule and I love the extra income.

I chose to apply to Target to expand on my previous experience and extend my journey within supply chain. From day one we were onboarded into a culture that encourages teamwork with an emphasis on reliability and safe behaviors. I was encouraged by leadership to help others, cross-training into multiple job functions which assisted with the morale, chemistry and cohesiveness of our team. I am excited to share that I am now currently a training specialist.

Check out these frequently asked questions:

Q:

How does Target decide how many seasonal team members it plans to hire?

A:

We first offer our current team members opportunities to work additional hours, if desired. We also leverage the On-Demand team in our stores — a flexible workforce that includes about 43,000 team members — who have the option to pick up shifts on an as-desired basis to fit their schedule.  We then hire additional team members to meet local demand across our stores and supply chain facilities.

Q:

What specific positions will you hire for? What are the roles and responsibilities for these seasonal positions?

A:

Seasonal team members fill a number of roles at Target, with the majority in our stores stocking shelves, curating our style departments, helping guests during checkout and assisting with online order fulfillment. These team members create a welcoming experience for guests and help us deliver a great experience in every store, all season long.

In our supply chain facilities, we are hiring for roles within warehouse operations. A role in supply chain means being on the frontlines of getting products to our guests and stores as quickly as possible, creating greater ease for guests and fellow team members.

Q:

What is the On-Demand program? Are all team members, including seasonal workers, able to work On-Demand?

A:

Over the past few years we have successfully established an On-Demand team in our stores — a flexible workforce that includes about 43,000 store team members — who have the option to pick up shifts on an as-desired basis to fit their schedule.

All current store team members have the option to talk to their leader about shifting to an On-Demand role, and seasonal team members in our stores also have this option following the holiday season. We don’t currently offer On-Demand positions in our supply chain facilities.

Q:

What wages and benefits are available to seasonal team members?

A:

Target Team members, including our seasonal team members, are offered a starting wage range of $15-$24 an hour depending on role and location. From day one, team members have access to competitive health, well-being and financial benefits, including 24/7 virtual healthcare through CirrusMD, confidential mental health support and coaching through Spring Health (with eight sessions for each service at no cost), early pay access with DailyPay, a 10% discount at all Target stores and on Target.com, plus an extra 20% off wellness items at Target. Team members also have access to Grokker, which provides expert-led on-demand videos across fitness, nutrition, mindfulness and financial wellbeing.

Q:

What does the application process look like?

A:

Interested candidates can visit TargetSeasonalJobs.com starting Sept. 24, 2025, to apply for stores roles. Target is already hiring for supply chain roles and candidates can apply through Target.com/careers.

For store positions, pre-recorded video and online interviews will once again be used this year. For supply chain positions, candidates will submit applications and online assessments.

Target is committed to accommodating candidates who need assistance with the interview process. Candidates can contact Guest Services at 800-440-0680 or at the location where they are interviewing to ask about assistance with the interview process or for any other accommodation requests.

We know the holiday season brings added energy and excitement — and our team is ready to meet the moment and deliver the joyful experience our guests expect from Target. We’re proud to support our team with meaningful benefits, flexible scheduling and growth opportunities, whether they’re joining us for a career or just a season.
